Pre-Thanksgiving

Phyllis and Frank drove to St. Louis for the weekend. We met up for dinner at Frankie Gianino's in Imperial. Home of the Cardiac Burger:

No one was feeling up to the challenge that night, but we enjoyed some very good burgers.

We met up for breakfast, then went separate ways. Steve did some plumbing work under Frank's tutelage. Afterwards, they went to the shooting range. Phyllis and I went to Jackman's Fabrics. It's full of fabrics, sewing machine parts, patterns, design inspiration, etc.

After Jackman's, we stopped at Costco for some basics. Then met back at home. We had Subway for lunch and started prepping for dinner.

Steve and Phyllis configured the T.V. so we could watch the news/the Iowa game. We usually just watch television programs through Hulu/Netflix/Amazon. They figured it out, but the buffering/delay was really bad, so we ended up watching the first episode of Quantico. It was ok. Then we re-watched some Sherlock, because it's great.

Frank made roast turkey, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

Phyllis made mashed potatoes.

I made a pumpkin pie.

Maggie oversaw all production.

As did Steve.

It was a great meal and great fun to hang out with them for the day. We feel very lucky that they made the long drive to see us!

We met up for breakfast on Sunday at Chris' Jeffco Diner.

Steve had the "Yum-Yums" and toast. (Scotch eggs)

I had cinnamon French toast and bacon.

We said our good-byes to Frank and Phyllis, as they needed to get back to Nashville. Then Steve and I did the usual Sunday stuff of going grocery shopping and bemoaning the end of the weekend.

Thanks to these seasonal North Pole Nutty Bars, Revy was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of eating a Nutty Bar.
